The Academy of Arts and Sciences is a Free Public Charter School that offers a blended learning program at five sites:

• Del Mar
• Mission Valley
• Thousand Oaks
• Sonoma
• Oxnard

Students have the flexibility to choose when they complete their work throughout the day and how much time they need to spend on each subject, however students are expected to log on and progress through their materials every weekday.

The Academy of Arts and Science will be offering various elective courses on site, based on interest, that students can partake in; however high school students also have a catalog of online electives they can choose from as well.

In Grades k-8, a parent or learning coach guides the student through their work on a daily basis at home. Students should check in with The Academy of Arts and Science teachers on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to ensure an understanding of the material. Students can come into the site as needed and for the elective offerings.

In High School students complete their course work online. Students can do this either at home or on site in the school computer lab. Students must complete work daily and are expected to check in with their teachers weekly to ensure mastery of the material.
